What is Jetroque?

Jetroque is a free mobile and web app that lets you swap or give away unused items to neighbours, rather than throwing them out. The app uses artificial intelligence to list an item in 10 seconds and a geo-matched system to connect you with people nearby.

Is Jetroque really free?

Yes. The app is completely free to list, browse, swap and give. The Jetroque+ subscription ($97 CAD/year) is optional and unlocks the 60-day pickup guarantee, unlimited swiping, Super Likes and select exclusive events.

Which countries does Jetroque work in?

Jetroque works worldwide via iOS, Android and the web. Its community is growing first in Quebec, though the app is accessible anywhere. Only the 60-day home pickup service is currently limited to Quebec.

Who is behind Jetroque?

Jetroque is a Quebec corporation (Jetroque Inc.) based in Montreal. The company was founded by Sabri Cadaawe. The app has been featured on Radio-Canada (Sauve qui peut! with Pierre-Yves McSween) and has partnerships with RECYC-QUÉBEC, HEC Montréal, NEXT AI and the City of Montreal. Learn more →

Can I use Jetroque in English?

Yes. The site and app are available in French and English. You can switch using the FR / EN toggle at the top of each page.

Sign-up & account

How do I create a Jetroque account?

Download the app on iOS or Android, or open app.jetroque.com in a browser. Sign up with email and password, or via Google, Apple or Facebook.

Is there a minimum age to sign up?

Yes. You must have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence (18 in most countries). Minors are not permitted to create an account, even with parental consent.

How do I permanently delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete my account, or write to info@jetroque.com. Your personal data will be deleted or anonymised within a maximum of 12 months (unless legally required to be kept). Any remaining Jetroque Credits are cancelled in accordance with Article 22.3 of the Terms of Service.

I forgot my password — what do I do?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password". You'll receive an email with a reset link valid for 1 hour. If you don't receive anything, check your spam folder or write to info@jetroque.com.

How do I list an item in 10 seconds?

Open the app, tap the + button and take a photo of your item. Jetroque's AI analyses the image and automatically suggests a title, description, category and estimated value. You confirm and publish. Full tutorial →

How does the matching system work?

You browse available items nearby in swipe mode (left to pass, right to like). When another user has liked one of your items and you like one of theirs, it's a match — the chat opens automatically so you can arrange the exchange.

What is a swap on Jetroque?

A swap is a direct exchange between two users: item for item, service for service, or item for Jetroque Credits. No real money changes hands. The details (place, time) are freely agreed between both parties.

What is a gift on Jetroque?

A gift is a free and permanent transfer of a working item to another user or a partner non-profit, with nothing expected in return. For every gift, you earn Jetroque Credits and see your avoided CO₂ impact counter go up.

What items can I list?

Virtually any item that is working, clean and legal: furniture, appliances, clothing, dishware, toys, books, tools, bikes, sports equipment, electronics, musical instruments, baby accessories.

What items are prohibited?

Drugs, medications, weapons, live animals, stolen or counterfeit goods, adult content, financial products, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, third-party personal data, deepfakes, 3D weapon files, perishables and used hygiene products. Full list in Article 11 of the Terms of Service.

Can I exchange money for an item?

No. Any monetary transaction (cash, Interac, PayPal, bank transfer, cryptocurrency) is strictly prohibited between users and results in an immediate ban. Jetroque is exclusively a swapping and gifting platform.

What if I'm not happy with an item once I receive it?

Swaps and gifts are final once confirmed. Always inspect the item in person before confirming in the app. If a disagreement arises, use the rating system (1 to 5 stars) and report the transaction via support if necessary.

What is the Troken Currency (Jetroque Credits)?

It's a virtual credit system usable exclusively on the Platform to acquire items when a direct swap isn't possible. You earn credits by listing useful items, referring friends or completing eco challenges. Credits are never convertible to real money.

How are estimated item values calculated?

The AI analyses the photo, identifies the item, its brand and apparent condition, then cross-references this with second-hand market data. The value is purely indicative — you decide whether to swap or give.

60-day guarantee & pickup

What is the 60-day pickup guarantee?

If your item hasn't found a taker within 60 days of being listed, Jetroque arranges a free pickup at your home. The item is then donated to a recognised partner non-profit. Service included with Jetroque+ or free for residents of a Partner City.

Why is pickup only available in Quebec?

To ensure service quality (scheduling, non-profit partnerships, traceability), Jetroque is rolling out pickup logistics gradually. Quebec is our home market. Expansion to other provinces and countries is underway.

What is a Partner City?

A municipality that has signed an agreement with Jetroque to offer its residents premium services for free (including the 60-day pickup). The city pays Jetroque on behalf of its residents.

How can my city become a partner?

Interested municipalities can contact partnerships@jetroque.com. The team presents the partnership model (citizen benefits, city impact dashboard, integration with local reuse initiatives).

Subscription & pricing

What does the Jetroque+ subscription include?

For $97 CAD/year (plus tax): free 60-day pickup guarantee, unlimited swiping, Super Likes and Rewinds, 24-hour listing boosts, an annual ecological impact report, exclusive events (Swap Festival).

How does Jetroque Pro work for businesses?

$100/month or $1,000/year for businesses, non-profits and organisations. Includes all Jetroque+ benefits, an ESG dashboard, custom geolocation, priority support and profile verification.

How do I cancel my Jetroque+ subscription?

Cancel at any time from your account settings. The subscription remains active until the end of the current period. Under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, you also have a right of withdrawal of 10 business days following payment.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within the 10 business-day withdrawal period. Beyond that, the subscription is non-refundable for the current period. If Jetroque closes your account for a commercial reason (unrelated to a breach on your part), a pro-rata refund is owed. Details: Article 9 of the Terms of Service.

Safety & community

How does Jetroque protect my account?

HTTPS (TLS 1.3), AES-256 encryption of sensitive data, bcrypt-hashed passwords, 2FA available, firewalls and IDS/IPS, anti-DDoS, encrypted redundant backups in Quebec. Details.

How do I report a suspicious user or content?

What precautions should I take when meeting someone?

Choose a public place (café, metro station, park), meet during the day, let someone know where you're going, check the other person's ratings, and never share your banking details in the chat. Jetroque will never ask for this information.

Is Jetroque accessible for people with disabilities?

Jetroque strives to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards: keyboard navigation, sufficient contrast, ARIA labels, text alternatives for images. If you encounter a barrier, write to info@jetroque.com with the subject line "Accessibility".

Personal data

What are my rights regarding my data?

Under Law 25 (Quebec) and GDPR (EU): access, correction, portability, erasure, de-indexing, withdrawal of consent, complaint to the CAI or the relevant authority. Requests to privacy@jetroque.com — response within 30 days maximum.

Where is my personal data stored?

The core of your account (profile, listings, messaging, history) is hosted in Quebec, Canada, in certified data centres. Some peripheral services (Stripe payments, Apple/Google push notifications) may pass through international sub-processors, under strictly controlled conditions (Article 7.4 of the Privacy Policy).

Does Jetroque sell my personal data?

No, never. Jetroque does not sell, rent or trade your personal information for commercial purposes. The only sharing cases are: bound technical sub-processors, partner non-profits for pickups, public authorities on legal request, potential transfer in case of a merger or acquisition (always under the same protection conditions).

How do I exercise my right to erasure?

Send a request by email to privacy@jetroque.com with the subject line "Right to Erasure". Reasonable proof of identity may be requested. Some legitimate limits apply (7-year tax obligations, ongoing litigation, backups in purge cycle). Details: Article 11 of the Privacy Policy.

Is the app available on iOS and Android?

Yes! Jetroque is available on the App Store and Google Play Store. You can also use the web version from your browser.

Which systems are supported?

iOS 14+ and Android 8+ (Oreo). On the web: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and Brave in their two most recent major versions.

Does the app work offline?

Partially. You can view listings you've already loaded and recent messages without a connection. Publishing, searching and matching require an active internet connection.

How does Jetroque measure ecological impact?

For each item swapped or given, Jetroque calculates an estimate of the kg of material diverted from landfill and the equivalent CO₂ avoided compared to buying new. Methodologies are based on ADEME (France), Recyc-Québec and recognised life-cycle assessment standards.
